This private shore excursion takes you from the Danube port of Linz to St. Florian Abbey, one of the largest Baroque monasteries in Upper Austria. Anton Bruckner was a choirboy and organist here, and he is buried beneath the great organ.
The Augustinian abbey of St. Florian stands over the grave of St. Florian, a Roman official drowned in the Enns River around the year 304. The Baroque complex by Carlo Antonio Carlone and Jakob Prandtauer impresses with its Marble Hall, imperial rooms and a magnificent library.
Anton Bruckner came to St. Florian as a boy and returned again and again. Your guide tells his story and shows you the basilica with the Bruckner organ and, where possible, the crypt where the composer rests, at his own wish, right below the organ.
This private shore excursion is planned around your ship's schedule. Your guide keeps an eye on the clock so you are back on board relaxed and on time.
