This private day trip takes you from the river cruise port of Passau to Český Krumlov in South Bohemia, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Europe. The old town in a bend of the Vltava and its castle have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.
The drive leads through the Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest into South Bohemia. In Český Krumlov the old town nestles into a tight loop of the Vltava, overlooked by the castle, the second largest castle complex in the Czech Republic after Prague Castle, with its colorfully painted tower.
Your guide leads you across bridges and through lanes of Renaissance and Baroque houses, tells of the Rosenberg, Eggenberg and Schwarzenberg families and shows you the view from the Cloak Bridge. Egon Schiele, whose mother came from the town, also left his mark here.
