The hike covers several kilometres, mostly flat along the river; only the climb up to the castle ruin itself involves a short but noticeable ascent. Overall, the tour is easy to manage for people with a normal level of fitness.
How do we get back to Bratislava at the end?
Depending on your preference and the group, we either walk back or use public transport for the return journey. We’ll discuss that with you in advance.
Is this hike also doable as a day trip from Vienna?
Yes. You travel to Bratislava by hydrofoil or train and still have plenty of time for the hike to Devín Castle and back before returning to Vienna the same day.
