On foot up to sweeping views over three rivers
This tour takes you on foot out of the old town and up to Veste Oberhaus. Between woodland paths and viewpoints, you will learn why the fortress watched over Passau for centuries, with views of the Three Rivers City opening up along the way.

How steep is the path up to Veste Oberhaus?
The path climbs noticeably over long stretches and includes stairs as well as unpaved sections. A moderate level of fitness is sufficient, but sturdy footwear is important.
What footwear and equipment are recommended?
Sturdy, closed shoes with a good grip are recommended, ideally weatherproof in wet conditions. You should also bring water and rain protection if needed.
Is the hike suitable for people with mobility impairments?
