This tour brings together the Wachau's best-known sights: the abbey rising above Melk and the ruined castle above Dürnstein. Along the way your guide shares stories of knights, monks and winemakers who shaped this landscape.
For first-time visitors who want to see the Wachau's best-known sights in a short time, and for day-trippers on a tight schedule.
Melk Abbey, Dürnstein berth or Krems
Yes, the path up is uphill and steep in places. Sturdy shoes are recommended, and the climb takes roughly a quarter of an hour at a brisk pace.
No, the tour shows you the abbey from outside, or part of the grounds depending on what we agree beforehand. Entrance tickets for the abbey interior are not included in the guiding fee and are arranged separately.
That depends on your booking and the season. We agree the transfer between the two towns with you in advance, whether by your own vehicle, public transport or boat.
