Frequently asked questions

Do we actually climb up to the ruin at Dürnstein?

Yes, the path up is uphill and steep in places. Sturdy shoes are recommended, and the climb takes roughly a quarter of an hour at a brisk pace.

Is entry to Melk Abbey included?

No, the tour shows you the abbey from outside, or part of the grounds depending on what we agree beforehand. Entrance tickets for the abbey interior are not included in the guiding fee and are arranged separately.

Do we travel between Melk and Dürnstein by bus or by boat?

That depends on your booking and the season. We agree the transfer between the two towns with you in advance, whether by your own vehicle, public transport or boat.
