The Welterbesteig Wachau leads through vineyards, forest and past wide views over the Danube loop. This guided hike follows one stage of the official long-distance trail and shows you the Wachau from above.

The route

What is the nature of the route, do I need sturdy footwear?

The Welterbesteig leads over forest paths, trails through vineyards, and in places, steep, stony sections. Hiking boots with good tread are mandatory; trekking poles can be helpful.

How do we get back to the starting point at the end of the stage?

Depending on the chosen stage, the car ferry, a public bus, or the Wachau railway can be used for the return journey. We will discuss the suitable option with you before the tour.
