This hike climbs out of the Danube valley into the Vienna Woods, past vineyards to the Kahlenberg summit. At the top you are rewarded with one of the finest views over Vienna and the Danube, far from the bustle of the city centre.
The route

How much elevation do we gain?
Depending on the chosen route, we cover around 300 to 400 meters of elevation. We will discuss the exact route with you beforehand to match your fitness level.
Do we need hiking boots?
Sturdy, closed shoes are recommended, as the forest paths are natural and can be wet depending on the weather. Hiking poles are not necessary.
How do we get back to the city centre?
From Grinzing, Nussdorf, or Kahlenberg itself, there are good public transport connections back to the city centre, which we will show you at the end of the tour.
