On foot, you climb Gellért Hill past several viewpoints up to the Citadella and the Liberty Statue. At the top, a panoramic view opens across the whole of Budapest and the Danube.

How strenuous is the climb up Gellért Hill?

The route gains around 130 metres in elevation on paved paths and steps. Normal fitness is sufficient, though sturdy shoes are recommended.

What should we bring?

Comfortable shoes, some water and, depending on the season, sun protection or weatherproof clothing are useful. Most of the route is outdoors and uncovered.

Is the route suitable for guests with limited mobility?

The climb involves steps and uneven paths, so it is only partly accessible. Let us know in advance and we'll find a suitable alternative together.
