History, remembrance and bathing culture combined
This tour is devoted to the Great Synagogue, the former ghetto area in the 7th district and the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial, before moving on to one of Budapest's thermal baths. History and bathing culture meet here.
For history-minded guests willing to take time for a sensitive subject, and curious about the city's bathing culture.
Vörösmarty Square, Fisherman's Bastion, hotel or cruise berth
Shoulders and knees should be covered, and men are generally expected to wear a head covering, usually available at the entrance. We recommend dressing modestly regardless.
Swimwear, a towel and possibly bathing shoes are useful, and lockers are standard at the thermal baths. Entry to the baths is not included in the guiding fee.
We address the history of the Jewish Quarter and the memorial on the Danube factually and with the respect the subject calls for. The tour is intended as an educational experience, not a sightseeing highlight.
